ELEKS: The Power of Partnerships for the Greater Good

The full-scale war forced Ukrainian businesses to make a choice – focus solely on survival or take on a broader social role by supporting those who need it most.

ELEKS, a Ukrainian IT company with a 34-year history, has shown from the very beginning that its expertise, resources, and people can serve not only business growth but also become a pillar of support for society. However, after the first waves of humanitarian aid and fundraising, an important question arose: how can social initiatives become systemic and sustainable, efforts that truly change lives? How can an IT company combine professional expertise, philanthropy, and strategic vision?

The challenge was to turn fragmented acts of charity into an ecosystem of partnerships, where each collaboration delivers measurable social impact, and every employee can find their own way to contribute, whether through intellectual volunteering, physical engagement, or blood donation.

ELEKS developed a corporate social responsibility approach grounded in partnerships with trusted NGOs and foundations whose work creates long-term value.
In 2024–2025, the company focused on five strategic directions:

  • Developing the professional IT community
  • Supporting education connected to IT
  • Improving community well-being
  • Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Systemic support for Ukraine

We’re proud to share several partnerships that have become meaningful to us.

  1. Superhumans Center

For two years, ELEKS has supported the Superhumans Center for prosthetics and rehabilitation. During this time, the company has donated over $100,000, funding prosthetics for Ukrainian soldiers. The sixth prosthesis is now underway and will be completed by the end of this year, each one symbolizing a personal story of recovery and renewed life.

Beyond financial aid, ELEKS actively promotes a culture of blood donation. Two donation drives have already taken place at the Lviv office, engaging over 150 specialists from ELEKS, N-iX, and Gameloft at ELEKS’ invitation. A third donation day is already being prepared.

The company has also organized three meetings so far with Superhumans experts and an employee tour of the center,  allowing everyone to see firsthand how it operates, who it supports, and what impact their contribution truly has. For us, it’s not just about donating money, it’s about seeing results. When our colleagues hear the stories of people learning to walk again, it becomes deeply personal.

  1. “Vilnyi Vybir”: Technology to Support Veterans

The ELEKS team is working pro bono on the development and improvement of the “Baza” app for the NGO Vilnyi Vybir, which helps veterans and war survivors reintegrate into civilian life.
This collaboration involves ELEKS specialists volunteering their expertise to enhance tools used by over 40,000 active users each month.

The app provides immediate access to psychological support regardless of location, enabling veterans, military personnel, and civilians to receive qualified help free of charge.
We believe it’s crucial for such tools to operate smoothly – that’s why ELEKS has been maintaining the app continuously on a pro bono basis since the partnership began.

  1. UCU Online

One of the largest and most impactful initiatives has been the free online course “Returning from War: First Steps into IT”, developed in partnership with the Ukrainian Catholic University.
The course helps veterans understand how to start a career in IT and stands as a clear example of how business can support social reintegration through education.

Seven ELEKS experts, including veterans who themselves transitioned back into tech, contributed to creating the course, which includes seven thematic modules, video lectures, practical assignments, and a mentoring chat.

Results:

  • 583 participants
  • 54 graduates with certificates
  • 40% of learners are veterans
  • Zero negative feedback

In 2024, the project won the DOU Award for “Best Nonprofit Initiative Advancing the IT Industry.”
This recognition underscores that systemic collaboration between business and education can truly change lives.

  1. Tabletochki Foundation

For ELEKS, social responsibility isn’t only about large-scale projects, it’s also about consistent, ongoing care.
The company has been a regular donor to the Tabletochki Foundation since early 2022, supporting children battling cancer. Beyond financial contributions, the team participates in lectures and discussions with foundation experts on philanthropy, mental health, and the importance of long-term giving. These initiatives help foster a culture of empathy, awareness, and responsible generosity within the company.

Over the past two years, ELEKS has proven that social responsibility can be systemic, technological, and emotionally meaningful at once.

Each partnership has a tangible impact:

  • Over $100,000 directed to medical aid and prosthetics
  • 150+ blood donors who have helped save dozens of lives
  • 580+ veterans gaining a pathway into IT careers
  • Hundreds of children with new opportunities
  • Social initiatives have become an integral part of ELEKS culture.

They are regularly featured in corporate communications – as a reminder that everyone can make a difference when acting together.

At ELEKS, we believe in partnerships, not one-time actions. When business, community, and volunteers unite, results become sustainable.

ELEKS’ cases demonstrate that corporate social responsibility is not PR and not “charity for reporting.”
It’s a mindset – a belief that a company is part of a larger social ecosystem.

Supporting veterans, helping children, fostering blood donation, empowering education, and building tech solutions for nonprofits – these are all different expressions of the same value: when business and people join forces, the impact is measured not only in numbers, but in restored lives, smiles, and renewed faith in the future.
