Mobile shelters SafePlace4UA

Our stores are located all across Ukraine, including frontline regions. It is important to us that, on one hand, people have the opportunity to continue working, and on the other, that local residents and the military can purchase essential goods.

As a business, we understood that we carry responsibility for the lives of both our colleagues and our customers during times of shelling. That’s why we started studying the availability, capacity, and accessibility of the nearest shelters. In areas where shelters were either too far away or in poor condition, we decided – together with our partner SafePlace4UA – to install above-ground shrapnel-resistant shelters near our stores. Of course, they won’t protect from a direct hit, but they can certainly save lives in the affected zone.

After installing the first shelters in Kherson, we started receiving valuable feedback from both people and local authorities – residents actively use the shelters during shelling.

“Our stores operate in cities where life continues despite the war. And our mission is to make that life safer. Together with SafePlace4UA, we are creating spaces that protect from shrapnel and restore a sense of calm,”
– Alona Zhyhura, Head of CSR at Aurora Multimarket.

Thanks to our productive collaboration with SafePlace4UA, mobile shrapnel-resistant shelters are being manufactured, transported, and installed in accordance with all modern safety standards – and even decorated with murals, because life and kindness must prevail.

In 2024, we installed 18 shelters, and by the end of 2025 we plan to install the same number again.
