Best practices of CSR 2021

Case name: Support of young Ukrainian artists

What problem does it solve? Consistent and long-term work in support of young Ukrainian artists

Results: Over the period of support, we witnessed a transition from the idea to the construction of a whole sustainable eco system where the freedom of self-expression and courage prevail. MUHi in 2021 is not just a competition but includes educational panels within the framework of the event, meetings with leading experts in the area of art, discussion of recent trends in art, evaluation of works.

Case name: «SMART-impulse for the community»

 What problem does it solve? Problems of lack of necessary knowledge about the directions of development of territorial communities.

Results: A hackathon was organized among the population, thanks to which the aspirations of the residents and their vision of the growth vector were learned. There are 24 insights and 60 ideas related to education, culture, economics, health, infrastructure development and support for small and medium-sized businesses, government, community and business. Their implementation continues.

Case name: Your Community Begins with You

What problem does it solve? project provides a unique opportunity to not only government officials, but also each resident of the participating community to get involved into the implementation of changes within their particular communities.

Results: In 2021, 667 project applications were submitted for the contest, 330 projects were considered the winners and the company supported their implementation. The number of members of the initiative groups and volunteers directly involved into this year’s project is 3665 people. 

Case name: 30 Good Deeds to ELEKS’ 30th Anniversary

What problem does it solve? Reducing the constant threat to their lives and health, struggling with financial difficulties, being in a state of constant nervous tension, many people are obsessed with their inner feelings and distance themselves from other social problems not related to the pandemic.

Results: Over the years of supporting the project, we have witnessed the transition from idea to building a sustainable ecosystem where freedom of expression and courage prevail.  In general, as of November 23, 2021 for the implementation of good deeds more than 1 million 650 thousand UAH. More than 700 ELEKS specialists were involved in the implementation of the initiative (as of November 23, 2021, more than 1,900 people work in the company’s Ukrainian offices).

Case name: Memorandum of Cooperation with a Local Community

What problem does it solve? Solving the problems of ecology, economic development, health care, outflow of young professionals, education, health of the community.

Results: Farmak seeks to develop not only its own production, but also the environment in which it conducts business, creating conditions for sustainable development.  This leads to the fact that assistance does not solve the problem of the community comprehensively, but only closes the current problem as of “today”. Therefore, for systematic long-term cooperation between JSC “Farmak” and Shostka community, a Memorandum of Cooperation for 2021 was signed. 

Case name: Comfortable recreation in the Ukrainian countryside

What problem does it solve? Prosperity of the villages, and its inhabitants had comfortable living and recreation conditions.

Results: The Community with Your Own Hands project was transformed in 2021 after DTEK joined the Ukrainian Business Without Barriers initiative and the international initiative The Valuable 500. DTEK was the first Ukrainian company to join the global movement that brings together company executives from all over the world. Since the creation of the project, 6 recreation areas have been established in 6 villages, 5 of which during 2021. In total, about 42 company employees and 100 community representatives took part in the project, and the cost of the project is UAH 70,000.

Case name: Ecomobility Summer at Intellias

What problem does it solve? Sustainable mobility, especially the use of bicycles, reduces the burden on the transport system, does not pollute the air and improves human health.

Results: In total, it was more than 100,000 people in Ukraine and abroad. More than 100 specialists joined the flashmob and watched thematic short films. Such activities received a very positive feedback from colleagues, and it was on the initiative of Kyiv colleagues that we organized an additional show of Urban Mobility Shorts in Kyiv. More than 200 guests attended the offline events. And thousands of Lviv residents will use the developments of the updated cycling concept.

Case name: The School of Sustainable Development of MHP

What problem does it solve? The company’s aim was to acquaint pupils with the SDG,  tell them about how everyone’s actions affect the world and how to change the situation for the better.

Results: 93 children and their families, 19 teachers took part in this project. The children were initiated into the champions of the program and learned an “important lesson in life.” 29 MHP employees volunteered for the project, who gave lectures, attended schools, evaluated works, etc. The partners of the program were the Center “CSR Ukraine” and the “MHP-Gromadi” Fund, which supported the project on the ground. The cost of the project was 32,000 Euro.

Case name: The Muliaroviys’ Family Restaurant

What problem does it solve? Culture defines the fundamental principles of worldviews at the level of entire countries, regions or local communities

Results: As a result of the introduction of the “Gastrotour”, sales figures of small producers have also increased, and some cultural monuments have started to see demand for product sales in the form of souvenirs. For example, local cheese has appeared in museums, and its sales have increased by 30%. It is expected that the volume of the tourism based income of Verkhovyna Amalgamated Community will increase to 30% as a result of the project, but official data will be published only in 2022.

Case name: Development Energy training grant competition in the territory of presence of Ukrgasvydobuvannya JSC, Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC

What problem does it solve? The lack of understanding of communities why they interact with the company that the company provides to the community (jobs, rents, other taxes, contributions to the state budget).

Results: A base of creative ideas of community development projects was formed and a pool of TOP 10 projects that have not been implemented before was determined. These ideas are now spreading to all communities of the company’s production presence. 


What problem does it solve? Helping the older generation.

Results: During the four years of the “Giving Beauty – Helping” Program, 21 employees of the Clinic visited more than 10 geriatric centers. In total, such trips covered about 2,300 people, whose video reviews can be found on Facebook. All employees say that at first the old women look at them, but then they ask to come again.

Case name: OpenTech crowdsourcing platform

What problem does it solve? Increase the positive impact on the communities in which we work and live.

Results: In 2020-2021, a team of volunteer staff began work and partially implemented 15 projects: 5 technological solutions to help fight the pandemic covid-19, StopCovid-19. Information resource for reducing the incidence in Ukraine, Resource for the collection and operational analysis of data on the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine, Fight Covid-19. Platform for quality communication of medical equipment donors with Covid-19 Bulgaria hospitals.
